I did manage to beta test the Autel Maxi Das DS 708 & it does all Domestic (sorta like Launch x431 as it?s very weak & spotty but growing daily), Asian & Euro car lines, does to coding & adaptations as well as module initialization on many cars. Auto Enginuity wants $1400 for the Big 3 & Asian & another $1200 for Euro Yet you still can?t do programing & or module initialization functions only simple adaptions best unless you spend another $1300 and buy their DG Tech/DearbornGroup manufactured J2534 interface device bringing total to a whopping $3700.Then you still would have to buy the software subscriptions separately from the OEM?s themselves.

The main issue is they (Ease Diag.) want $1200 to update software to 2010 level (but still no Euro). Also, the UVI J2534 Programmer can also work with most OEM dealer level software as a full-fledged scan tool & also perform (J2534 / module) re-programming.

However, I did do r&d & found out that previous owner paid $3-4k for it as it also has full scan tool program software as well for the big 3 Domestic & all Asian cars, but only up to 2007/08 but no Euro. I may be kinda late in asking as that I already bought the Ease Diagnostic UVI-J2534 Universal Programmer off the 'world renown ' buy & sell site $500. How well does it work the jury is still out on the matter. They recently have came out with an Enhanced GM, Ford &, Nissan, Madza upgrades $49.00 each, Toyota $ 99 totaling $300. The Auterra Dyno scan works well within it?s Generic platform doing just basic engine management data /pid scans.

I Just have a general question on if anybody had any experience on the PC based scan tools such as Ease Diagnostics PC Scan Tool vs. I also noticed the trend of how the OEMs are now moving away from the old school hardware type self contained scanners & into the new age of MVCI/VCM/MDI type interface devices & Laptop PC based systems. I am fully aware of the fact the best way to go is OEM, but $3k per scanner average make it a wee bit pricy in today?s economic times.

I have had previous hands on real world experience using the Snap On Solus Pro & Ultra Modis, Verus, OTC Genesis & Pegasus Launch X431 Master & Smart Box, GM Tech 2 Vetronix Master Tech & PGM(Honda) Tester Ford NGS, Chrysler DRB 2&3 just to name a few. I am in need of a full-fledged automotive scan tool to do stuff like reading codes & data, & performing bi-directional controls in all engine, body & chassis modules. I am looking to start a mobile diagnostic auto repair service.
